The goal of all our learning is to remember the oneness of all life. But seeing the consistent pattern of one brother attacking another, the prospect of joining is unwelcome. So it is here one of our greatest challenges for healing separation lies. In every attack we seem to see two opposing brothers, one is perceived right, the other wrong. One is justified, the other not. And it is in this moment of one brother being unfairly treated all attack is justified. But in truth we cannot be unfairly treated because the one we accuse is but our self. The appearance of attack must continue until we recognize we are the “enemy” we accuse. Only when we are responsible for “our own” thoughts and experience will projection of our guilt become unnecessary. Now the focus of our forgiveness is apparent. And without the need to be separate the illusion of sin’s cause is gone.
