Recognizing our innocence is the key to our awakening to the truth. To recognize how resistant we are to accepting the truth we have to face how attached we are to our primary illusion – the belief we are a body. It is impossible to accept innocence while believing that what we are is the very thing that symbolizes our guilt. Then I must ask: If the body is not real and I am committed not to judge what is not real, can I justify judging what a “body” might do? In short, it is not possible to see the truth while thinking the body plays some role in who we are.
