The ego’s first thought of how to be helpful is to point out what is wrong with you. When you consider, however, that our life experience stems directly from our thoughts and beliefs it becomes apparent that the only real problem we have is the belief that there is something wrong with us. The truth is we have never changed what God created perfectly. That awareness remains with us but is lost within the story we tell about who we are in the world. Behind the judgments we make about one another remains the presence of our true loving nature. Forgiving when the inclination to judge arises opens our mind to this loving presence. It also sends a clear message to the one we would have judged: I recognize there is nothing wrong with you! Or me!
